2016 Live-Streamed Panel

Hey there, awesome people! IT’S TIME FOR CH1CON 2016.

As always, one of the sessions at the conference will be a panel featuring our speakers. (You can check out who all is speaking this year here.) Also as always, we’re going to live stream this on YouTube so all of you amazing young writers who couldn’t make it to Ch1Con 2016 still get to participate in something.

This year’s panel will take place from 3:00 to 4:00 PM central time during the conference on Saturday, August 6th.

This is totally free and you don’t need to sign up for anything; it’s simply our gift to you to thank you for all of your support throughout the year. You can find the live stream on our YouTube channel at:

www.youtube.com/chapteroneconference

We’ll be asking the panelists a mixture of questions from both the attendees at the conference and those of you watching from home. The questions can be about absolutely anything you want, serious or goofy, writing-related or not. (For example, in 2014 we asked our speakers about their OTPs. One replied that she shipped herself and Panera.)

If you’ll be watching the live stream and would like to ask the speakers a question, there are two ways you can go about doing it:

1.) If you already know what you’d like to ask, you can email your question(s) to us at chapteroneconference@aol.com any time until the day of the conference.

2.) If you come up with a question while you’re watching the live stream, you can tweet it using #Ch1Con.

Either way, feel free to ask as many questions as you’d like. No promises we’ll make it through every single question during the hour-long panel, but we’ll do our best.

Thanks again for supporting us, guys! It means the world to everyone on the Ch1Con team.

See you at 3:00 PM!

Ch1Con Yule Ball!

The Ch1Con team is excited to announce the Ch1Con Yule Ball!

The Ch1Con Yule Ball is in no way associated with the Yule Ball from the Harry Potter series, our queen JK Rowling, or Warner Brothers. We just really like this GIF.

The Yule Ball will be an hour-and-a-half long live video panel taking place Saturday, January 23 from 4:00 to 5:30 PM EST. It’ll feature young authors, answering YOUR questions about writing and the publishing process. (Oh, and did we mention that there will be all kinds of awesome giveaways too?)

Our amazing panelists are:

i4unlwtq_400x400Ava Jae

Ava is the debut author of YA science fiction novel Beyond the Red, which Sky Pony Press will be releasing March 1st! She’s also an assistant editor at Entangled Publishing, blogs about writing and publishing at Writability (which celebrated one million hits, in 2015!), and vlogs at bookishpixie. Oh, and on top of all of that, she’s a college senior (and spoke at Ch1Con 2015!). As if she isn’t already doing enough. Her writing is represented by Louise Fury at The Bent Agency.

Ava’s Book: Barnes & Noble / Goodreads

mhgvu45z_400x400Eilis Barrett

Eilis is the debut author of science fiction novel Oasis, which Gill + Macmillan will be releasing April 1st! Additionally, she’s the Galway NaNoWriMo co-captain and got her book deal when she was sixteen. (So basically she’s awesome.)

z4lgfwmd_400x400Christina Li

Christina Li is a YA writer represented by Jess Regel of Foundry Literary + Media. She’s also currently in high school (aaand is maybe, possibly a member of this year’s Ch1Con team!).

And most importantly: interested in watching the Ch1Con Yule Ball? You’ll be able to watch the panel live on our Youtube channel at www.youtube.com/chapteroneconference!
